does this computer come with win 7 pro?

My order arrived with a sticker on the box that specifically stated this computer comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Professional and also includes media (a set of CDs in the box) for Windows 8 professional.

Upon opening the box and booting the machine I did find it to have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed and in the box a set of Windows 8 Pro recovery CDs.

Where is the Windows product key ? Mine did not come with one .

Mine did not either in violation of Microsoft Policy. I used a key finder to extract it from the registry.

How much mega bits per second can this system receive? my current system receives up 50, but I can get 1000 from my internet provider.

That all depends on your network infrastructure. In our office, we use gigabit Ethernet cables to connect our PCs. The Ethernet port on this desktop is capable of receiving gigabit (up to 1000 Mbit/sec) transfer speeds. However, if your router, modem, or network cables can't deliver gigabit speeds, then you're out of luck.

Is the Motherboard a standard form factor? Could I pull this machine out of its case and mount in another?

It looks like a standard Micro ATX mainboard that could be removed and used in another build.  Hope this helps.

What does this mean: 1TB HDD Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit / Windows 7 Professional downgrade?

Accepted Answer

It means the computer comes with the right's to downgrade from Windows 8 back to Windows 7 if you would like.  When I purchased this it actually came with Windows 7 on it already and I can now upgrade it to windows 8 if I would like to. (By reinstalling Windows)  In short, the Windows 8 Professional product key works for both installing Windows 7 & 8 on this computer.

Is the Windows 7 Pro 64-bit?

Yes.  Also comes packed with 5 CD's of Windows 8 64-bit software if you want to install it.  My "IT" guy from work advised against it.

I am looking to use this with a video editing program that requires:
Quad core processor 2.8 GHz or better, 4GB RAM, and a graphics card at least 512 MB VRAM.
It looks like this model qualifies, but can you verify the Quad core part, and the graphics card part?

This PC will not work for video editing. It is a standard business class machine not meant for heavy video. Onboard integrated vid card. Plus processor itself is not powerful enough.

Is this computer wireless only, or does it also have a port for a network cable?

It has both wireless and integrated NIC.

Just purchased this and it came with Windows 7.  Where is the Windows 8 as indicated?

Disks are in the box in plastic bag, and since it's a licensed downgrade doing a upgrade to Win8 can be done through Windows Anytime upgrade.
