No Operating System included. I have installed Debian 8.5 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. Both worked without issue.

How do you get the RAID to work? ACU does not load when I push F5 or F10.

You have to download it from HP's website and boot from a flash drive. For whatever reason, it presents that as an option when booting but doesn't actually have the software embedded in the chipset. There's a thread on HP's forums talking about it that I'd be happy to link if Newegg wasn't paranoid about the mere possibility of a page on their site linking to a potential competitor. The server ships with 8 GB of RAM.... can anyone tell me what the physical configuration is?  Are all 4 slots occupied or just two?

Mine came with one 8gb stick install.  The other three slots are open and available.

No but it makes a great base for a home or small office media server. There are many distributions available free of charge tailored for just this. I used Freenas.

Can you install a PCIe Fibre Channel card to utilize IBM EXP5000 Drive arrays and Windows Server 2008 R2 OS?
Reason I ask, I won auction at a storage facility that had 7 arrays... 32 450s and 80 600s.

There is a lot wrong with your consideration. You would want something better than a $300 server to host $5000-$10000 JBOD's. You would also, presumably, want a server that is rack-mount as the EXP's are all 3U or larger I believe. Lastly, why would you install Server 2008 R2 in 2017? Even Server 2012 Essentials will do the job of hosting files if you are on a budget while still outperforming 2008 in TCP/IP network stack efficiency and file transfer throughout, both important variables of you are going to have that much data connected and want 100% availability.

Then there is the key issue with 2008 R2's support ending in 2020.

Question 10

Tried to repurpose mine as a workstation.  Installed Linux Mint, but can't get it to accept GT  710 graphics card--screen simply goes black when I boot up.  Seem to be in a Catch-22 situation--can't see the screen without a driver, but can't install the driver without the card installed.  Should I assume PCIE X16 is malfunctioning?  Can anyone suggest a solution? TIA

Check the bios and see if you can turn off the onboard video or plug a monitor in the onboard video card install the drives then switch back to your new card.
