Pros: Runs out of the box. Case seems sturdy enough. DVD writer even have lightscribe support, you can burn labels on your lightscribe disc when needed. Has four dimm slots which can support up to 16gb DD3 ECC ram and not 8gb as stated. 6 sata ports, 6 SATA plugs. Included HP setup disc is quite useful. Have a dedicated PCIe slot in case someone wants to use a dedicated graphics card
Cons: Only one system fan. Just like any other server, sounds like it's about to take off when powered on. Small capacity hard drive. Video max at 1204 x 768 despite intel says it max at 1600 x 1200.
Overall Review: I bought this with other people's money plus two Crucial 128gb SSD and 8gb Kingston dual channel DDR3 1333 ECC memory. Installed as a 1 user convenience store server for their online store. Don't need the bangs and whistles of Windows Server 2008 so installed Windows 7 64bit instead which is enough for their needs. Had difficulty tracking down video and audio drivers for Windows 7 and finally found the video uses the Matrox 200e server engines that can be found on Intel site. No luck on the audio yet. Video max at 1204 x 768 despite intel says it max at 1600 x 1200. Set this up with the two Crucial 128gb in a 1+0 RAID configuration. Supplied HP disc auto detect the hardware and recommended the 1+0 RAID setup which saved me from manually setting up the drives, add the 8gb Kingston DDR3 1333 ECC ram and it has now a total of 10gb memory. The 250gb hard drive now became the backup drive. Speed is ridiculous, web pages opened even before i finish typing :P.
