This server supports hot swap hard drives.  This means you need to either purchase HP brand hard dries with the included Gen8 Smart Drive caddies, or you will need to purchase third party compatible Gen8 LFF compatible drive caddies.

Can server hold two Xeon processors ?

No, the ML310 supports only 1 socket. For 2 socket you need the ML350

Saw a guy's review says that it doesn't come with any caddy, but since I just going to put 2x 3.5' HD in it permanently without needed to hot-swap, is screw the two hard drives into the existing drive bay possible? or the space is too wide for securing the hard drive in place when screw it onto its body?

I looked at VMware's HCL and it appears this is the system on that list.  Can anyone confirm this systems capatibility with ESXi 5.5?

Yes, I have vSphere 5.5 installed. Use the .iso of vSphere from HP and you should be fine.

Does the HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 server was ever tested with Debian linux? Does it support Mint Linux release?

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with network boot/root on a bunch of these without problems.

Does this HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 Tower have the back plane for 4 3.5" drives or 8 2.5" drives?  Do I need SATA drives or what type is recommended?

736661-S01 is 4 LFF (3.5)

SATA Drives supported out of the box.

SAS is Supported if you add an HP P420 or similar SAS Capable controller.  You can easily move the internal cage connection from the Motherboard based SATA controller to the PCIe Controller card.

Hi, I read somewhere that Dynamic Smart Array B120i/ZM only run on SATAII 3Gb/s, although if I plug a SATAIII 6Gb/s drive it'll still appears supported and run, but it just not running at 6Gb/s. So my final question is: can anyone confirm that if this Server's SATA controller is 3Gb/s or 6Gb/s?

I always disable the smart array. since its fake (soft) raid, its super slow. I'd recommend to either install a hard raid or use windows2012 raid (in case you are using windows).

does this come with a motherboard? what ssd drives can i load on this?

Yes, its a complete system except for the Hard Drives.

HP has a list of "Supported" SSDs on their website, but realistically you can use whatever you like.  I have a Crucial M550 in a similar model server right now.

Is the RAM on this server ECC or Non-ECC?

The E in 10600E means ECC.  R means ECC Registered.  LR means ECC Load Reduced.
