The HP Scanjet 8270 appears to be an older series machine and is not completely supported by HP. I can not scan multiple documents with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro without powering off the Scanjet and restarting it and Adobe. I have worked with both HP and Adobe to no resolution of the problem.

can we share this scanner between 2 PC's?

Yes if you install the software on both computers. You will hve to plug in the USB though. I don't think it can scan as a shared device.
