I have an HP Envy 17" Laptop. Does this device come with the cables I need to connect it to my laptop?

If your HP Envy has a working USB 2.0 port, I believe the included cable should work just fine.  You cannot connect it to your computer any other way.  Please note that the leather case does not include anywhere to store your included USB to monitor cable.

Question 2

Is this monitor usable in sunlight?  I'm trying to find a way to work outside on my deck in sunny Colorado and my Dell Inspiron 15 screen is a nightmare.

This screen is about the same outside as my HP Elite book, not readable in direct sunlight, shaded from direct sunlight it is readable but not overly bright.

Will monitor work with Windows RT? Do you have to download any drivers to make it work?

No you don't . The cd supplied with the monitor will have everything included . Chances are once you plug in the us to the computer it should be able to install the drivers automatically .

Hi I cannot get the screen to work I've tried everything but the screen just stays blank can you help me please ? If not I would like a full refund as it does not work.

Hi Lauren,
I had the same issue and found I needed DisplayLink drivers instead of the HP drivers. Go to www displaylink com/support/index.php and download the software and drivers from there. The device should start working with those drivers. Once installed, hit your Windows and the P key and select Extend. It should work perfectly after that.

WILL THIS WORK WITH A MAC BOOK PRO?

I have only used this with a Windows System.  It was absolutely amazing and loved it.  I can be so much more productive on the go when visiting clients.  After upgrading my work station with four monitors working on a laptop with one screen was not an option.  I just popped in the disc for the software installation and it states Supported Operating Systems is Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.  I would check the HP website for further driver support that is Mac based.

Can you have two of these plugged into a laptop at once?

Yes ... but, your laptop must have the capacity to "drive" 2 or more displays and a recent OS (Such as; Windows 7 or 8.x) that can support 3 or more displays. (laptop screen + 2 HP LCD Monitors. It is NOT the monitor(s) but the laptop(s) physical specifications and/or the underlying OS that determines any Laptops or Desktops ability to support multi-monitor setup's.

I do not know if it will work on a apple laptop.  If it has two free USB ports I think it will work.  But you can check the HP web site for details.

Yes. You will need to find the driver for the display.   Also the LCD get power from the USB so it will take up two USB port.  Hope they update this to a USB 3 and add Sound to it.

Hmm I'm traveling, so no scale. I can say that it seems to be a lot lighter than laptop. I know that doesn't answer your question directly, but I did wanna join in and let you know how much I actually like this second screen. whatever the actual weight is, I found that I have benefited enough from it it's worth carrying around. I have used it for every week since the first week of January 2014.
