Is there any way to use this monitor with an 11" Macbook Air?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as your MacBook air has a displayport out (I believe most, if not all, do) and can support 2560x1440 resolution (that you wil have to check your specs or ask an Apple expert), then you can get the full benefit of this monitor.

Question 2

I have an old GTX 560 Ti with only two DVI ports.  I am trying to determine if I HAVE to use both DVI ports to drive this monitor, or if I can use one port to send it a lower signal (ie 1920x1200), and use the second DVI port to continue to run my other monitor.  Anyone know?

You only use one DVI connection to drive a monitor. This monitor requires dual-DVI to use the 2560x1440 resolution, but dual-DVI refers to the type of DVI connection and cable, not the number of DVI connections. I'm pretty sure the Nvidia cards should support dual-DVI on their cards, and I believe this comes with a dual-DVI cable. Just make sure you don't mix up dual-DVI and single-DVI cables, since they look pretty similar.

Question 3

This monitor was originally manufactured with a grainy anti-glare coating. This appears to have been fixed in 2012 with "v2" of this monitor.  I'm not clear here if what they are selling is the really old, original version of this model, or the updated version of this model.

If it's the newer one, it's a good value, but if it's the old version, I would question how worthwhile it would be to get.

Does anyone know what version (manufacture dates) these are?

I received a version manufactured October 2012, which I believe is the newer version. I can't compare the coating to an older version, but I am very happy with it. The only non-uniformity I could pick out was that the bottom 1-2 inches are very slightly darker, not something I ever notice without looking for it. It came with no stuck or dead pixels.

Question 4

Would a mini-Displayport to DisplayPort cord, allow for the maximum resolution?

I've never tried it, but according to wikipedia if you search for "Mini DisplayPort", says:

"The Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP or mDP) is a miniaturized version of the DisplayPort audio-visual digital interface. The functionality and signals are identical."

What is the length of the warranty on the refurbished model? Is the warranty from HP or a third party?

The warranty is a limited mfg warranty from HP.  The term is 365 days, however, the start date is not necessarily the date that it was ordered, delivered, or registered.  The date is actually when it was placed into service AFTER it was refurbished.  The unit I received, after registered, reported a warranty date from Feb 2014 thru March 2015.  I purchased my unit mid March, so, in my case, I will receive approx 340 days of warranty.  The warranty, I should mention, is In-Home service.  This means that any problems experienced, and requiring service, will be escalated to a local technician in your area.  This technician immediately orders the necessary parts and/or complete replacement unit, and delivers said product once items are in-hand.  If you are familiar with Dell Business Warranty, it is strikingly similar.

Question 6

Will this monitor work in 2560x1440 with a DVI-D cable, if the video card only has a DVI-I port? My graphics card is an AMD 7950 3GB; the card specifications state that the DVI port is DVI-I. I am looking for some clarification.

DVI-I is integrated Analog and Digital and DVI-D is just Digital - so your case should work.  Connector wise, DVI-D male to DVI-I female will work, but not the other way around (no where for the analog pins to go).

I have this monitor for a month now and it has been truly great display wise - just wish it had a few more connection types.
