Does the eClaro automatically disable speakers when headphones are plugged in?

I have my sound setup so it goes from the card to my bose speakers, and if I want headphones I just plug in my headphones to the bose controller so mine does disable speakers once it's plugged into my bose controller. I would assume it does the same for any other speakers. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

will this sound card run just two front speakers?

Yes it can. You can connect front speakers directly to the headphone out port on the faceplate of the card. If you connect the card to your case, you could connect front speakers to the headphone / front channel output port on the front of your computer case.

Question 3

Looking for a quality sound card with decent driver support.  I have a new build but am currently running just the on-board sound with Logitech Z5500 speakers (powerful yes but probably only average sound quality) that I do not plan on replacing.
Should I see a noticeable difference with even these speakers?

I have the Bose MusicMonitor speakers, so I can only speak to the difference noticed using those. Before, the onboard sound had a slight hiss and would crackle occasionally. The best way for me to describe the sound quality is to say it was as if the speakers were playing through a heavy sweater. Now, there is no hiss or crackle at any volume and the sound feels closer. I no longer find my self annoyed when listening to music.

Is this the best card and is there something better for the price? I don't know. I do know that I enjoy listening to music much more now.

Does the D-Sub connector have a Microphone-input 3.5mm jack on it? I'm interested in buying this card for superb 7.1 audio on a Sennheiser 7.1 headset, but I want to make sure I will have use of the mic. Thanks!

Yes it does have the Mic. The sound card is awesome and I used it for three days and the second EVGA Dark board took a crap and it sits in the closet and I have the Asus Black Edition and it has almost the same quality.

Does this card work for old legacy games in a 7.1? Any type of EAX emulation?

Hello,first off i would like to say Thankyou for your time with my Question,I bought this card,and i also ended up with the Sound Blaster-Z card from a Freind and wanted to know if other players  maybe used one of these cards in the past and which is better for performance and sound for PC Gaming ?
