Anyone have issues of this drive overheating?

Not that I'm aware of. It's installed in an Intel i7 Nuc, a pretty small box, so I can't imagine cooling is that great. On the other hand, I haven't had the opportunity to use it hard yet.

Is this SSD compatible with a MacBook Pro Retina 15" Early 2013 Model A1398?

I suspect not as you will need a M2 x 4 connection My mount is on a asus x99 motherboard
