Question 1

This drive only speaks about a SATA connection.  Is it a 6G or 3G compatible or does it make a difference?

now save the 6g for your drives and use the 3g for dvd and blu-ray burners, the sata handles the buss speed fine..my units run great like this, hope this helps

The description says that this drive will read HD-DVDs.  Has anyone tried this, or it is another false feature like Lightscribe?

I don't believe it does.  The i-omagic web page for the burner does not mention HD-DVD.  This is what it does list:

The drive will play high definition video only from Blu-Ray discs as far as I can tell.  I don't have any HD-DVD discs to try it with, however. And yeah, I really wish it had Lightscribe.  I bought a separate DVD burner - used - to accomplish that.

This drive describes as Lightscribe Support which to me means it will burn to lightscribe dvd's?

After installing the drive, I discover it did not have any lightscribe support. Could not label a lightscribe disk. Advertising is misleading.

Question 4

Does it support writing labels on lightscribe disc?
I don't see the "LightScribe LOGO" on the drive front.

This is a Blu-ray drive and Does Not have Lightscribe function.  For that I bought another drive that does have Lightscribe which can be put in your computer or an external enclosure.
