You just need to ensure the graphics card didn't come loose during shipping, mine was fine, and plug everything in (mouse, keyboard, monitor & Ethernet cable if you use it). I've been building personal PCs for decades from the motherboard on up; but for the price, this was hard to beat.

I personally use Ethernet but have seen a number of reviewers indicate the built-in Wi-Fi doesn't work or works poorly. If you use an Ethernet cable to plug directly into a router or modem, you should be fine; otherwise, you may need to purchase a different Wi-Fi adapter.

does this desktop come with 1 or 2 sticks of ram?

I plugged in an HDMI cable and its not popping up on my monitor, is it not compatable with hdmi? Do I need a vga?

Sorry Deven, I can't really say definitively that it is hdmi compatible because I am still using a vga monitor from my previous setup. but the video card I have in my setup says it's hdmi:

Do you have to download anything extra after purchase? If so what?

That is a very vague question. Any further downloads will be based on your own personal needs and the needs of the operating system and computer components. Every computer will need updates from time to time. Many also use programs to allow them to voice/video chat while gaming.

Question 5

The specification on the Newegg site for max memory is 16GB but the manual and the Gigabyte website says max 32GB for the GA-78LMT-USB3 Board, which is it? Thanks.

This is an odd one, and must be a typo.  When I purchased mine back in Nov. the max was set to 32 Gb.  The specs (motherboard, OS) that could determine how much RAM you can handle have not changed.

Since, I myself am only running 16Gb in this machine, I thought I'd double check my research, before I say anything.  So, in my final bit of research I ran the Crucial Memory Scanner to verify my findings.

Yes, the max on this machine is indeed 32Gb.

i heard that the wireless usb adapter thats in the pc is not good could i just buy another wireless usb adapter and plug it in one of the ports or do i have to remove the one thats connected to the motherboard?

Bought the computer for my kids in December and moved the original USB adapter to an external USB port since it didn't seem to be working well inside the case.  It went out three weeks ago, replaced it with a better one and it works fine.  I never tried using the new one with the old one still plugged in (if that's what you're asking).

The adapter is in a USB port on the clear side of the case (inside) and is easily removed.  You can take out the two screws in the back holding the side with your hands and slide it off. Then you can remove the original and  plug your new one into the same location or one of the many external ports.  You'll be done in under a minute.

This would be my first gaming computer other than a laptop is this computer right for me?

We bought this computer for my teen aged son mostly for gaming. It comes with enough to play a lot of games well right out of the box, but it also has room to be upgraded for future use. We were not expecting this computer to play everything at max graphics, heavily modded minecraft, Don't Starve, Cities Skyline, Skyrim all run nicely just to name a few. So far the computer has handled everything my son has wanted to play with no issues. We also have had no issues with the computer itself, we just made sure all the connections and hardware were good to go when we set it up (incase something came loose during shipping as noted by other shoppers). Our system has been up and running for four months now with no issues.

What is the fan size in this machine is it 120mm or smaller?

Hi, 
Mine came with three 120mm case fans.  One in back and two in front.   There is also a smaller fan, about 70mm, that is mounted directly on the processor heatsink, as well as the normal fans built into the power supply and graphics card.

Anyway to turn off the lights on the pc? I just bought it and have no Idea if you can or not.

I have this pc and i do not believe so since they are in the fans themself. I do not reccomend going in there and messing with wires, but if you really want to turn them off see if there are wires for the leds.
