Star Wars Battlefront

Star Wars is just one of those things you always love. I have fond memories of my Millennium Falcon flying around the house filled with characters crashing around inside. I destroyed many a Lightsaber in battles with friends and still have some toys around the house somewhere, not to mention the countless games released based on the movies. Battlefront is one of those great titles every Star Wars enthusiast is excited about and has memories playing it.

Star Wars Battlefront Throughout the Years

The original Battlefront game was release back in 2004 and gave countless hours of fun. I can remember running around Tatooine while blasting away at storm troopers, and the actual fear you got when Darth Vader showed up. Everybody would go running around and team up to try to stop him.

Battlefront 2 brought us a lot more characters and vehicles as well as a greater point of view from the Empire. Around this time many of the Star Wars games were recognizing how players loved to be bad too.

Character Models

You can really see the difference in the current generation of games by the realistic lighting, shadowing and lifelike animations for the characters. It really makes the game appear as close to life as possible. However, it still has a little uncanny valley affect as some of the hero characters have the wax museum look to them, but overall the game looks great.

Vehicles

Vehicles

An important part of any Battlefront game is the balance between vehicles and units on the ground. Much like Battlefield, the vehicles will go quick and people will be waiting for more to spawn. The scale of the AT-ATs feels right and massive. I’ve seen a few people getting crushed in the beta gameplay we’re seeing online already.

First Person vs. Third Person

Star Wars Battlefront

The cool thing about a game like Battlefront is its comfortable viewing angles, giving the users the benefit of checking out characters fighting with lightsabers or looking down the sites of their favorite blaster.

Overall

Star Wars Battlefront looks like a strong title this year and we can’t wait to see it battle out against so many good games this season. For those ready to relive their favorite moments from the movies, or create their own, this is a great game for any Star Wars fan.
