Could this device be used to hook up an my old PC speakers to a new PC that uses USB only? My old speakers (3 + a subwoofer) uses 2 prong (Green and Orange) connectors.

Yes. I have this and It works great fir headsets. I bought it because my computer only had a single 3.5 mm plug, and I needed two. It should work.
