Does this support PCIe M.2 SSD with UEFI ROM slot on MSI Z390 PRO Motherboard?

My install is UEFI, using windows boot manager, meaning it has an EFI partition.  If you are asking if it can work without the EFI partition (ie, not using windows boot manager), I don't know.  Like the other answer, I don't see why it wouldn't work.  Perhaps someone else can confirm.

i would agree with the last post...  the brand of SSD doesn't matter (Samsung, Intel, etc)...  it's more about your Desktop/Laptop having the correct slot or not.

It's a storage device, just like any other SDD device.  It carries all the same functionality as a SATA drive.

No. M.2 screws and standoffs should have come with your motherboard. If you need M.2 screws and standoffs, a search at Newegg will find kits.

I'm new to m.2 SSDs. Would this (PCIe 3.0) M.2 SSD work with an older motherboard that supports M.2 2280 but lists PCIe 2.0 x 4 in the specs? I have the ASUS 970 PRO GAMING/AURA. Thanks!
