Will this drive work with an AMD system,  provided the motherboard has an NVMe slot?

Yes. As long as your mother board has support for M.2 NVMe, it does not matter what CPU or other components you have

This drive is both.  First, it is a TLC (3-bits per cell) NAND flash memory.  Second, the interface (controller) is a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVME (Non-Volatile Memory Express) interface.

The TCL has a lower lifespan of an MLC or SLC, but rarely will you find an MLC or SLC at this capacity.

The PCIe 3.0 x4 and NVME controller are faster than SATA III type M.2 SSDs.  M.2 SATA III type SSDs are rarely sold anymore because as opposed to using the PCI Express bus to interface both CPU and RAM, the SATA controller is far slower in transfer rate than the PCI Express bus.

Is this M or B type notch?

As I recall it's a m notch. I bought this ssd to use as my boot drive for Windows 10. I wanted the max speed I could get, so I chose this m.2 form factor NVMe device with m notch to use the most PCIe channels available at the time.

Hi All. Can one use this drive as a main boot drive with a Mac Pro 2010 running Sierra? Is tan AHCI drive? Thanks so much.

This is an NVMe drive which means it's natively PCI-Express, not SATA/AHCI, plus you would need a PCIe 3.0 adapter. AFAIK, you won't be able to use it as a main boot drive even in that configuration since I believe only the NVMe drivers on older Mac Pro's load AFTER boot (10.13+ High Sierra) since there's no UEFI BIOS support for booting directly off NVMe drives.
