Will this work at 1GBit - Will it basically sync to a slower speed?

Yes it will scale down in speed, just like the 10GB Copper X-540T1 will scale down from 10gbps to 1gbps (by advertised or negotiated link speed of whatever device it is plugged into).

The caveat is, there is certain 1Gbps fiber that can only run in a single mode setup, and these cards will not work for this. If you can verify by what type of switch you have what type of connection it supports (multimode SFP+ etc) then you would be fine using this card.

Does that make sense?

Does this card come with a full height adapter as well as the low profile one?

Question 3

The images provided with this item are not consistent.  Image1 shows two cards, one of which has no LC ports, but 2 empty ports (maybe SFP+ ports?), and the other has 1 LC ports.

The second image has a card with 2 LC ports.

The model number is clearly the unit with 2 LC ports, but the price is more consistent with the unit with only 1 LC port.

Could I get confirmation that this unit is really the one with 2 LC ports?  (And ideally, the images would be cleaned up to avoid confusion.)

Not sure why Newegg has a picture of card with 2 ports and one with only one port. I have 10 of these cards and all have 2 spf+ ports and come with Intel 10gb modules. We use them in Vmware servers and one Jbod server. Some of the servers have 2 cards thus 4 ports. the model numbers on my cards sticker is E10G42BFSR x520-SR2 and it has 2 LC ports. The cards are rock solid. We use both fiber and twinax to these cards.
