Is this a low-profile bracket? I'm looking for NIC to put in a 1U chassis and can't tell if this will work.

comes with full bracket installed and a low profile bracket is included in package in case you need it for your install. Chances are though with a 1u chassis your expansion cards will install horizontally and you may have 1 standard slot and 1 low profile slot. But this eth adapter will work in either with the equipment provided.

Is it compatible with a Dell R-220?

iF YOU HAVE A SLOT FOR IT IN YOUR SERVER SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM..I LOADED THE ONE I PURCHASED IN A DESKTOP STYLE SERVER. PURCHASED BECAUSE I NEEDED A COMPATIBLE NETWORK CARD FOR ESXI 6.0

Does this need an X16 slot and why? Other intel dual Gbe NICs are x4.
