The description and reviews state that this card can support 20 drives w/ port connecting to the main card via one bus of bandwidth or 16 drives for dual bandwidth.

In the image it appears there are 9 sas connectors. Why can the 1 just be used to connect to the main logic controller and the other 8 be used for connecting drives (4*8=32 total drives)?

The card pictured is the RES2CV36, which boasts 36 PORTS over 9 connectors. The RESCV24 only has 6 connectors. So with 6 connectors: 4ports*5connectors (6 connectors minus 1 to connect to RAID card) equals 20 ports which equals 20 drives via single link. Dual link would be 4*4=16drives.

how do you daisy chain 2 RES2CV240 cards together with an LSI 92604i RAID Controller? I purchased all three cards from Newegg and I am getting errors when connecting the 2 cards together I have already spoken to LSI tech support.. they requested logs and determined that their card is working fine it is the intel cards that are having a problem the Intel cards did not come with any documentation on "daisy chaining" 2 cards together such as which ports to use on the cards, cables and any configuration settings that are needed to accomplish the "daisy chaining" without errors

Hope you have the situation sorted by now.  Else you might want to read on...

Intel has documentation on their site.  You should enter the model and do a search, and refer to the User Manual.  They list the ports and the connection options.  Hope this helps!
