Can I use my existing external antenna from Asus with this instead of the one provided by Intel?  I want to use the included M.2 card and mounting bracket but my existing external antenna.

this card uses the same connectors as laptops. if the existing antennas use the same connector it should work.

Im Running an ASRock x570 Phantom Gaming 4 with a Ryzen 9 3900x. Works just fine. installing it without the connectors coming loose can be a pain.

The AX200 is  not compatible with an M.2 slot with E key that is an Intel CNVi slot. While the AX201 is a CNVi2 compatible M.2 card, the AX200 is not a CNVi card of any kind and it will not work in a M.2 slot designed for a CNVi card. See this discussion on the Intel community website, "Intel AX200 wireless card not working in MSI Z390A-PRO motherboard.", which does not seem to have resolved the problem.  Just search for the quoted text since links not allowed here.

If your motherboard has an additional M.2 slot with E key that is not a CNVi slot then the AX200 with an adapter may work. I have seen a posting where someone used an M.2 slot with an M key (regular M.2 slot) with the AX200 by using an adapter which allowed the E key AX200 to be inserted into the M key M.2 slot. See a posting on a Gigabyte forum, "AX201 M.2 on Gigabyte Z390M CNVI slot does not boot", just search for the quoted text since links not allowed here.

Further more there is a different between CNVi and CNVi2. The AC 9560 WiFi card is a CNVi M.2 card that works with the MSI PRO Z390-A while the AX 201 WiFi card is a CNVi2 M.2 card. See this posting on the MSI forums web site, "Why the Intel AX201 CNVi card does not work on Z390 boards? The System does not recognize this card, and it's not shown in the Device Manager.", which says:

"Z390 chipset does not support Intel AX201 card. AX201 uses the CNVio2 interface instead of the previous CNVi on the Intel 300 series MBs. It requires the upcoming Intel 400 series chipset and 10th gen processor to work."

Will it work with 3rd gen i5 and i7 with latest Win 10? (Description says 8th, 9th, and 10th gen. Any reason why it won't work on 3rd gen as long as I have the latest Win 10 drivers?)

I expect it would work with Windows 10 regardless of the Intel processor generation.  However, the device mounts on the motherboard in an M.2 specifically for Wifi.

I use it on a Z390 board made to support Generation 8 & 9.
I do not know of boards earlier that have the required M.2 slots.
But then again, I do use SSDs  on Generation 3 processors and Mobos without the M.2 slot, instead using PCIe adapters to mount the M.2 SSD.   This works with Windows 10 as a very fast storage device but not as a boot device. So it is limited in support.
Apparently PCIE M.2 Wifi adapters are available, but I do not know
what restrictions you may run into.  You can be sure you will not be running the device in native mode via a PCIe adapter.    Good luck!

Does this have good support and drivers for Ubuntu or just any Linux distro in general?

I don't know how good the support would be but if you search on ax200 drivers for ubuntu there are results that make me believe it's working on that platform.   I found some other info when I did that but this forum doesn't allow links or references to other stores.

Is coiling the antenna wire safe or will it give me signal issues? My M.2 wifi slot and where I'd put the antennas are really close together so I won't need all that length

I found the wires & connectors to the card to brittle and when they become disconnected very hard to get reattached, very hard
