IOGEAR GBU521W6 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Multi-Language Version Micro Adapter

Pros: This is my 3rd Bluetooth dongle that I've purchased here at Newegg, all for various reasons. The dongle is sturdy and build construction is of high quality. I use this one to talk on my bluetooth headset via Skype and it works well. It goes further than my other bluetooths before. I'm haven't tested it yet, but I also feel that the file transfer is a bit faster from my cell phone to the PC than with other bluetooths I've had before too.

Cons: Blue light is very very bright at night time. I wish they could put a switch on it to turn it on/off as you please.

Overall Review: If you need a bluetooth dongle for whatever reason, this one is a great one to purchase. I'd highly recommend it.

Pros: I own the GBU521 (without the W6) from NewEgg and initially had trouble installing it. See other thoughts. It works great auto-connects as soon s headphones are turned on (a paired device) and supports all Bluetooth functionality. I still use Windows 7.

Cons: I've posted due to the issues some have had. My problem was the IOGear driver when installed was not turning on windows Bluetooth services. For the few hours I could not figure this out, it was very frustrating. As others had said, IOGear customer support was clueless. But, they did answer the call and did try to help. Both the Bluetooth driver needs to be installed and windows services turned on for proper operation.

Overall Review: For those that want to try, via windows start menu search, search for SERVICES. Then click on the found folder Component Services. Click Services (Local) in the menu tree. Under extended and standard look for Bluetooth services. If status is stopped. Highlight, right click and choose start.

Pros: - Bluetooth 4.0 - USB - Very tiny - Works with all the devices I've thrown at it

Cons: It's so small that my fingers can't pull it out without having string attached to it through its hole. If you ever plan to re-use that USB port, I'd recommend putting string on it, so that you can pull it out. I compromised, I use dental floss, but any good strength string should work.

Overall Review: Used this with an Apple iPod Touch 4G 64GB and a Tracfone Motorola W375g Phone. Have tried other devices, and it connects fine, but I haven't actually used the other devices to see how they work with this device.

Pros: Decided not to skimp out on a bluettoh dongle and went for the most expensive iogear vs the asus one. For seven bucks this was a good deal. Worked straight out of the box and was plug n play. No need for drivers off disk on w7. Adapter led even lights up blue but isnt too bright to function as a night light which is great. Range is great and pairs well with my logitech k810 keyboard.

Cons: Not really a con for the adapter, but I could not tell why my laptop kept loosing connection with the bt keyboard. Make sure in device manager you disable the function for the os to automatically turn off the device to save power. The adapter always needs to be powered to maintain the Bluetooth connection.

Pros: Super easy to install on windows 8 works just like it is supposed to.

Cons: Only con I can find is once you get the adapter in the usb port, it's tight and a little difficult to get out. I don't intend to remove it, so not really an issue.

Overall Review: I have Windows 8 operating system, so took my time in finding the right dongle. I was intimidated by everyone saying how difficult this was to install. I tried using the dvd that came with the adapter, but windows 8 said there was a compatibility issue. I plugged in the adapter and my system read it and initiated the appropriate drivers, I plugged in my headset and added a device. I was done. It was just that easy. I am truly happy with the purchase and the choice.

Pros: I bought 2, one works as expected on my older system Bluetooth 4.0

Cons: I plug the other one into an USB 3.0 port. Win 7 detect hardware and start installing driver for a min... then nothing. When I decided to unplug it, the product burns my thumbs... DEAD

Overall Review: not sure if its the usb driver problem or the product problem. When I found out this problem, the RMA period already expired.

Pros: Low profile - Relatively easy setup. Great price. Works well.. No problems

Cons: Not really a con but I had to install the software/driver that came with it as opposed to others I have used that Windows 7 automatically recognizes and sets up without doing anything.

Pros: - Running off drivers installed upon insertion of USB device and works great! - Fair working distance from device (WMR controllers) - Decent price

Cons: - Nice and compact but may be a little job for people with larger hands

Overall Review: Used on a Windows 10 PC in USB 2.0 slot for a Windows Mixed Reality controller set and has no problem. It has a tiny slot for a smaller lanyard/strap, makes it much easier to remove and find it put down somewhere.
