Question 1

Will this support dual 1920x1080 displays? I see the maximum resolution is 2560x1600 -- is that per monitor or the two combined?

Yes, they will. I have that exact set up and it works well. However this product works better if you have DVI inputs in your monitor. I ended up having to use DVI to HDMI adapters and it was a little bit of a pain. I still occassionally have to unplug the power to the KVMP switch and plug it back in to reset it so that the image will actually appear on the screen.

Is this KVM Dual Screen capable between 2 pc's and 2 flat screens running Win7 and XP?

Shouldn't have any problems. The switch really doesn't have much to do with the operating system. The cable runs from the dvi  port on the PC to the switch so the graphics card is what is really interacting with the KVM switch.

I ran into into some issues with my graphics card. I had to update the driver on my work computer because the image was in black and white on my screen. Once I did there were no problems.

I'm not an expert and the switch isn't cheap so I'd call the manufacturer before I purchased it and ask them.

Is there any why I can simply get the unit?  I don't need the cables; I have tons of DVI, USB, and misc. cables and really just need the switcher.

I do not believe you can purchase this KVM without the cables.
Even though you may have cables to use, you would probably want to the cables that come with it. They are made to work with it and probably will be a neater install than with the cables you already have.

is this rack mountable?

You would have to make brackets for it and attach the to the unit.  You could Velcro the bottom to the top of something in the rack or rack shelf.  That is what I did on my desk to stop it from moving around.  Hope this helps

Hi, I have a couple of questions.

1) I have a laptop that is then connected to a Toshiba Dynadock, that would then be connected to the KVM switch.  Since the Dynadock would be sitting between the laptop and the KVM switch, will there be problems with this?

2) My laptop runs Windows 8 and my desktop runs Windows Vista Home Premium.  Does this KVM switch support both operating systems?

I don't see that there would be any problem with the Dynadock. It has to just pass any signals right through and if it didn't it wouldn't work at all!. The KVm switch won't care about what OS you are using. It intercepts certain raw keyboard presses for it's own use (to switch) and ignores everything else just passing it through too. You should be fine.

I bought this product and upon connecting my laptop and desktop, I see that there is a lag in response. I am using 2 DVI monitors that are being shared between laptop (with docking station) and desktop. I also use a wireless keyboard and mouse. Before using this KVM switch, my mouse and keyboard used to operate smoothly but now, they stuck periodically & there is a lag for each operation. Also, on the screen, I clearly see that everything that I open will be blurred for a second and then comes up properly. I have tested my laptop with dual screens but without this KVM switch and it worked flawlessly.  Can someone suggest what is wrong with my setup?

I am using the KVM in a similar manner and I am not experiencing a lag when I switch. My wireless keyboard and mouse are a Logitech and use a single usb wireless adapter. How is your wireless keyboard/mouse connected? Mine is plugged into an extension usb cable and that is plugged directly into the back of the KVM in the usb port labeled with the keyboard icon. If you are by chance plugged off of your monitor's usb, or some other device in-between the kvm and the keyboard, that may be a problem.

Sorry, I do not have any Bluetooth devices to test it.  However, a USB flashdrive will function properly out of the front USB port, so I would assume that a USB bluetooth adapter would also work.

Question 8

I have a computer with dual DVI outputs and a laptop with a single DVI output. I want to connect these two a dual monitor setup. Can the laptop with a single DVI output span both Monitors?

I don't know for sure, but I believe you will need 2 outputs to run 2 monitors.

One thing I would like to mention, when using this is iogear  hardware, you might get bands of pixels across your monitors if the are high res enough. When I ran 2560x1600, I would see this issue. Lower resolutions didn't have this problem.

I ended up purchasing premium cables to see if the included ones just weren't good enough. I still had the pixel issues. Since I do graphics for a living, I had to stop using this product and go back to using one computer on a daily basis.

Question 9

I am currently using two widescreen monitors with one desktop PC, connecting with DVI cable on one monitor and HDMI cable on the second monitor.  Will I need an HDMI to DVI adapter to be able to connect a second desktop to use with the two monitors?

Can this dock push 120 hz at 1080p?

The spec sheet is ambiguous. It does mention running 4K at 30 hz.  I run my displays at 1080p 60 hz. with no problem. 120 hz. could be problematic. You might want to check with IOGEAR to be certain.
