how does the hot key function work?

So far quite well.  It seems to re assign the "Scroll Lock" key to the "switch computer" function.  This has never caused me any problem since I never used it anyway.
I Have my old XP mchine and my new Windows 7 machine using the same keyboard, mouse, sound and monitor.
If they make one with HDMI I will try it.
