Will this unit work with Windows 8?

yes, definitely. When you switch manually must press down once firmly not tenatively, then takes a few seconds to switch. I prefer to switch manually, a light shows you clearly which device is "on". Good luck.

I purchased this to connect 2 office computers to our printer/scanner. I installed the software so it would automatically switch to the computer wanting to print. I followed that manuals instructions for auto printer sharing but the automatic feature does not work. We have to manually click on the application to tell it to print from each computer. This is very disappointing. Is it defective?

Sharon, I encountered the same situation with my office printer. My research revealed that not all printers will recognize the automatic switching. I have to use the manual switch when toggling between users. It is a little disappointing but better than buying another printer. I hope this helps. Randy
