I have an old 5.25" SATA Hard Drive that I want to get data off of. I would like to put it in a USB enclosure and hook it up to my USB port. Wil this do the trick?

The iStarUSA unit you are referring to is designed to mount in the case. There are no provisions for external use. What you would need is an external USB enclosure for a 3.5" Hard Drive. Then you would be able to extract the data from your old drive. Hope this helps.
