Can you pair this without the dongle? My PC has 2.4G and BT built in. Thanks

Yes. The dongle extends the range (about 30 feet, over Bluetooth's about 10 feet), and provides extra features (like displaying volume levels and battery status). However, without the dongle, Bluetooth does work, if somewhat worse (mic is poor, sound artifacting can be heard) Item actually shows up as two different devices after being paired: 1. Stereo Headphones 2. Hands free comms device (mono, with low sample rate / low bitrate) which icludes mic As with the dongle, if using the headset via bluetooth, and you connect the USB C power cable, the unit turns off. (Presumably to prevent gamers from having their heads catch on fire, should the internal battery explode.) Feature Request: Battery "kill" switch, so can use the unit while connected to USB C, but not be charging the battery, so won't sue JBL for burn damage.
