Does this barebones come with the CPU or is that purchased separately?

The processor and heat sink is attached so all you need is RAM, HDD, to have an up and running system.

Question 2

If it has 6 SATA ports and only has room for one drive, where are you supposed to mount the other drives?

Indeed it does have six sata ports with little room to put drives but it does have more than one drive location.

There are 2 spots to mount 2.5" dives as well as a rail to mount a laptop cd drive to it as well.  Unfortunately, the power connections leave a bit to be desired but the package does come with an adapter for the cd drive.  minisata I believe.

Hope this helps.  I would look at what comes in the box so you can plan your cables accordingly if you want to mount more than one drive.

Motherboard supports Raid as well FYI.

Question 3

Looking at the product photos it looks like the case does not provide an opening for the PCI card. If not, how can the card be installed?  Can a PCI riser be used to install a full-height PCI (approx 6" long)?

I think the PCI connector is really for the network daughter board which is a custom fit. I installed a custom multi-track sound card and I had to use two flexible 6" PCI cables daisy chained together so I could rotate the card and do some custom mods to anchor it to the drive tray and have the card connector come out the drive slot.

If you want to install a hard drive and CD/DVD there will not be much room to stuff a PCI card in there. But if you are willing to do your own minor case mods, you can get a 6" card in there as long as you don't need a CD/DVD drive. I did manage to get the hard drive in with the card.

How many hard drives can the chassis support internally?

if no Slim CD-dvd drive then with slight modifying one 2.5 laptop drive and one desktop 3.5 internal drive. You can fit one desktop drive and one laptop drive.

Is the AD3INLAN-G daughter board compatible with this system?

Question 6

Wanting a system to use as a router, and to provide wireless to a household. Is there a way to route a connector for an antenna from an internal card slot, since there's no external slot?

I got a Penguin Wireless N Half Height Mini PCIe Card for GNU / Linux, which worked in both pfSense and Debian Wheezy.  The antennae I had for it weren't the greatest, so my range was limited, but I had no complaints when people were living with me.

You can either use a external USB drive or a slim internal SATA DVD drive

Will installing a daughter card interfere with the HDD/DVD tray?

No. I have Intel network card installed together with SSD in one system and HDD in another.

I don't have CD/DVD installed but the tray is on the opposite side of the case so the card should not interfere with it.
