Question 1

Has anyone been able to get this working with Windows 10?  I can get the install to go, but at the very end it fails stating that it can't update the Windows boot configuration or something.  Any ideas?

I spent a couple of hours trying to get it to work with Windows 10 but without any luck.  The problem isn't that it won't install from an ISO on a USB stick - its that once it installs, it won't complete the installation by writing the boot configuration.  I thought it might be UEFI related, so I changed BIOS settings for this but no matter what combination, the same problem comes up.  I may be able to get Windows 7 on it to work, which would probably be ok.  I just need to use this unit for displaying 2 x 1920x1200 monitors that show monitoring graphs and CCTV cameras for our site.  But would prefer to be using Windows 10 on it.  Was hoping that maybe a BIOS update would fix this, but it appears that I'm running the latest one.

Question 2

I am having issues with this device and the USB ports. When I have all 3 USB ports being used it seems to draw too much power and shuts off the device after a few hours. It took me a long time to figure out that this was the issue. I have 1 keyboard and 1 external hard drive plugged into the USB 2.0 ports. Once I plug in a USB 3.0 hard drive it shuts off after a few hours and will no turn back on until I unplug everything. Can anyone say if this is happening to them or have a solution to this?

Hello John,

I had this issue before with other types of PC's. and found it to be a Software problem withing the OS itself. Im not much of a Fan of running Portable HDD's in an Intel Atom machine to begin with, especially when its a little Brick. What you can do is try moving the portable HDD into a different USB slot. not all slot seem to be the same. I use Newer Dell Work stations at work. and 3 out of the 5 will give me a warnings. So that proves my theory there. I would only imagine that the Newer USB 3.0 port has a more tighter tolerance maybe to current level which is probably telling the PC to shut off or trip like a Circuit Breaker before something Bad happens. Another thing is the Brick. It could be the Brick has a rating of X amount. and after couple hrs of just sitting there, its already sitting at a Max output and when you try to bring it back (Example wake it up) it has to spin that HDD motor back up creating more of a Load at that particular point in time, that it can do anything but shut off. Thats just my Opinion. You can always try another brick with a Higher Rating to see if it does the same. Thats what i did. replace my 90w brick with a 120w.  Hope this Helps.

Does this come with the CPU attached? Or do I need to plan on an extra purchase?
