Is the 3 PC's one good for only one year or is it a one-time purchase type of thing?

The Kaspersky 3 PC Anti-virus is a 1 year subscription beginning at installation on the first PC.  When it expires it will need to be renewed.

Since this is 3 PCs, does it come with 3 codes that I can use over the course of 3 years on the same PC? or does it have to be 3 different PCs within the same year?

Mine came with one code.  My experience with Kaspersky is that once that one code is activated, the subscription is good for one year only, starting on the activation date.  With previous similar Kaspersky purchases, I've used the code on two different devices, and the expiration date was the same for both--even though one was activated much later than the other.

I purchased Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2016 - 3 PCs and 
it came in the plastick box, but with out CD. 
Inside was only small information with activation code.
The software we have to download from Kaspersky website.

You must buy a new Kaspersky every year.  All anti-virus programs must be renewed every year, unless you can find a multi-year option.

The image of the box shows Windows only.  If you scroll down on the product page when you can see the product comparison there are no boxes checked for the anti-virus in the mac section, so I am assuming the answer is no.

The product ships as a DVD case with the key card inside. The key is not downloadable. The UPC is part of the case insert. The rebate took over three months to process.

Download from the web site is fast and easy.  Should your hard drive crash and a reload is needed, download again. Be sure to register with Kaspersky to get all of the features Kaspersky has to offer.
