Is there a persistent annual renewal?

If I understand your question correctly the answer is yes.  Once the year is up there will be messages that pop up saying that you need to renew.  (The messages actually start shortly before the year is up.)  I believe the messages are only displayed at startup.  Also, the icon in the taskbar will change from green to red.  If you are asking whether there is an automatic annual renewal available then yes there is.  You set that up through the Kaspersky website however it may be cheaper to uninstall the old one and buy another copy from Newegg.

O.E.M. refers to the fact that the product doesn't come packaged in a box as you might find in a local store. It is simply a hang card with a hole in it, with the appropriate code on it for installing the security suite online.
