Is this adaptor for only one monitor?

Yes, this adapter will allow you to plug a monitor into a USB port. If your computer already has a monitor then this could be used to provide a second monitor. I use this with an Apple MacBook Air to get a second monitor out of it. Performance is reasonably good, although, for me, it is better to use VGA or DVI and not do video over USB, if you don't have to. The USB monitor tends to be a little jiggy by comparison.

Absolutely! I am using my Kensington Multi-Display Adapter to connect a third monitor to my desktop setup. It works great! All you need is an open USB 3 port. Load the drivers and you are good to go.

I have a 2015 Mac Book Air. I am already running one external monitor. I want to use this to run a second external monitor via an available usb 3.0 port.

Will the two external monitors be an extended desktop or mirrors? I want to increase my desktop real estate.

The second external monitor will extend your desktop.

I use one to run two monitors off an 11in MBA. It works fairly well, although performance is a little better on the monitor that connects via MiniDisplay Port. That said it runs fine for browsing the web or doing email. If you do fancy video work, don't use the USB monitor for that as the video will be kinda skippy.

Will this product work with Mac OSX Maverick?

This is using displaylink software under the hood.

If you go to the link below, they indicate support for Mac OS 10.9 (Maverick). I've been using with displaylink supplied drivers under 10.8 without issue.
