Does this "Kensington Orbit K64327F Silver 2 Buttons Scroll Ball USB Wired Optical Trackball" SCROLL in some way, as per the item name? With or without customization software? Does it use the trackball combined with some other motion?

After using the Kensington K64325 Expert Trackball Mouse this one left me wanting more. The trackball is the only piece of hardware that scrolls. It's plug-and play but also comes with software that allows you to customize the two buttons and scrolling speed.

Anyone try this with Windows 8/8.1?

Yes, I bought it for a Windows 8 laptop now running 8.1. The track ball is fine, I'm not as well pleased with 8 & 8.1 as my trackball. I like the cord vs wireless connection. The only thing missing is a scroll wheel that would be useful sometimes. The price is a good value.
