For basic operations like left-click, right-click, mouse movement and scrolling .... Yes.  But if you want to be able to assign special functions to the top two buttons, be able to use 'chords' by pressing more than one button at a time ...  That requires installing Kensington's special software that intercepts mouse clicks and reroute them according to the rules you have assigned.  When I installed that software in OSX 10.9.x it disabled video playback using Quicktime.  How intercepting mouse clicks would disable video playback is a complete mystery to me, but to confirm the association, three times I installed the Kensington software and found video playback impossible (it would act like it was starting to play but just give a blank rectangle on the screen)  and three times I uninstalled user login item that intercepts the mouse clicks, and all three times video playback would be restored after uninstalling the Kensington program.

That being said .... I love my my Kensington Slimblade Trackball and would not trade it for any other mouse or trackball.  But I have come to accept that I can't teach it any special tricks.

To be fair .... My experience happened about 1.5 years ago, so there is a small chance that Kensington has solved the problem and I am simply not aware of it. (but I'm not holding my breath because at the time I was having trouble there were reports online that other people had been having trouble with the Kensington software for over three years and it wasn't getting any better.)

So, as long as you just need a standard "left-click, right-click, scroll" type mouse ... it's great!
