Where is the water filter located?

Look in the water reservoir. There is a long plastic wand, attached at the bottom, which you can twist and remove. The bottom of it is then removable by squeezing both sides. The little gray gizmo inside it is the filter.

The coffee maker, with the right cups and the carafe plugged in, will do an option of: 2 to 3 cups (22 ounces), 3 to 4 cups (26 ounces), or 4 to 5 cups (30 ounces) I dont think it will let you do a carafe of water to those sizes though. and I dont know how much bigger the carafe is, than the sizes listed. I gave it as a gift, otherwise I'd test that out for ya :).

Not sure if you have the right K-Cup® pack? Look for the white outer ring, and the black Keurig Brewed® seal on the lid. On K-Carafe™ packs, look for the dark rim and the noticeable green dot on the lid. At the time of this writing, Vue packs are not compatible with the 2.0 Brewing System, but will become so shortly.
