Will this RAM fit in a 1U server chassis?

I would say "it depends on the motherboard". A 1U chassis is 1.75" outside dimension, top to bottom. Motherboards mount ~5/16" off the bottom and are 1/16" thick. The height of the memory connector between the motherboard and the bottom of the DIMM is probably 1/16". The DIMM height is 1 1/4" top to bottom. The bottom & cover of the chassis together are about 1/8" = 2/16". 2/16 + 5/16 + 1/16 + 1/16 + 1 + 4/16 = 1 13/16 = 1.82, so it would NOT fit standing straight up. However some motherboards might have "leaning" memory connectors for low profile cases that might allow just enough space. If you need to use a 1U case, I would recommend finding a low profile DIMM. They will have only 1 row of RAM chips, not two.
