I had the same question. I think it boils down to FUD. You are paying for memory "blessed" by Intel. I couldn't find any other differences. That said, i bought the Intel blessed memory. ;-)

One thing you may want to investigate is if the Intel blessed memory does something different with the thermal sensor. That is to say, I think the RAM specs are the same, but the thermal sensor could be different.

In the final cost of the system, presuming your aren't going to build a lot of them, it was less work to got with the intel blessed memory.
