There is no cable necessary. This plug in directly to a motherboard that has a mSATA slot. You would only use it in if your motherboard has that type of connector. It is designed to be used on itx motherboards with machine that need to save space.

I guess I don't really know the answer to your question here.  I've had zero issues with this SSD.  I bought it for a laptop that had a couple MSATA ports so it plugged right in with no issues.  And now use it for running the OS and then a traditional drive for storage.  I have seen IDE to SATA adapters in the past so I wouldn't be surprised if they made SATA to mini SATA adapters.

Is this a half length card or is there a half length card version?
I'm installing it into a MSI board MS-7826 version one which only has room for a half length card.

Look at the picture or the screw holes that anchor the card to the motherboard.   the tongue with the contacts must also align.  If it looks good  a user can use it.

I am sorry, but I can not find enough data on the motherboard in your ASUS. If you can find the information about the motherboard, it will be easier to determine whether this is compatible. It needs to have a MSATA slot to make it work.

Most likely not. I'm pretty sure this product is meant for special kinds of desktop motherboards. Try looking for a 256 or 512 SSD. Good Luck!
