The SteelSeries HyperX® headset will not only get your head in the game, it will help you kick your opponent's other end. This limited edition headset is classic Kingston® HyperX black and blue — you know, like the other guy will be.
Pro gaming optimized, this headset has crystal clear low, mid and high tones to immerse you in the game and enhanced passive noise reduction so the real world won’t interfere.
Pros: The suspension design of the headband is quite comfortable, even though I had missed a good sale price prior; it still seems worth what I spent. The mic is easy to adjust and the fact that it stores away is very nice; the quality of the audio from the mic is clear and doesn't seem to have many flaws other than it's a little sensitive. The ear cups are firmer than I thought but it works nicely with this headset. Now onto the audio quality of the earphones themselves, they seem to have good highs and lows and I've yet to not enjoy the sound coming out of them. The cord and the extension seem to have good quality wiring and remind me a bit of a vacuum cord, let's hope it's as sturdy of one. Which comes to my last bit, the controls located on the cord, they are nice for the volume control with a rubber wheel but the slider for the mic mute is lacking. TL;DR? Headset overall: Comfortable, light weight, good quality. Mic: Clear, minimal flaws. Sound quality: Good highs and lows with decent base. Cord quality: Seems durable. Controls on cord: Volume control is rubber and easy to use. Mic mute lacking, see cons.
Cons: The only reason this isn't a 5 egg rating for me would be the fact that the controls on the chord have a slight flaw, the mic mute switch. It's not a huge flaw and it is useable, but can be a bit annoying to use since it's completely smooth. If it had a notch or some sort of grip to more easily slide the mute button more easily. TL;DR? Mic mute control: Lacking a grip to more easily slide the button.
