Hi Ted,

I have had this fan installed on one of my PCs for about a year now. The answer would depend on your stock PC fan. I bought this for a tower I built and simply installed it to the CM Storm tower. I believe this fan is marginally better, but mostly aesthetic. The fans that push more air in than others typically cost a bit more, that being said however this fan is quiet and runs as expected. The led lights use little electricity, the fan itself doesn't use much either.

It is my opinion that this fan is a good buy, but if you need a lot of forced air, you may want water cooling or you can install more fans to get that correct air flow.
