Klipsch promedia alt. use 6/28/2012 1:40:27 PM

Pros: Church musician needed a practice sound system. researched some well known multimedia speakers and selected these. Connected my Kurzweil KME61 to my Roland VM-3100 and on to the 2.1 speakers. For my practice room you can't beat them unless big$$ is spent. They are compact, powerful, and deliver full freq. response. No "tin-can" sound. So far I LIKE IT!! Like the headphone out

Cons: can't turn them off, have to be careful when powering up mixer. Don't like the aux cutouts..can't run two devices simultaneously...thus the mixer

Overall Review: Will give a try as a practice system in our rehearsal room connected to larger Kurzweil PC3X. Since we can get fairly loud during practice using a old upright these MIGHT be sufficient to accompany an acoustic guitar and non-mic'd vocalists..we'll see

Pros: Great overall sound from a PC speaker setup if you can still find them! I purchased these a few years back, and still have them.

Cons: The original volume control pod was built from cheap materials, mainly the volume potentiometer, and DIN connector. After about a year and half used I got the same crackling sound and problems like many got if you google it. I stored the sub, but reused the speakers with a Z-5300e 5.1 sub (I replaced their Sats with all Klipsch Sats)

Overall Review: Recently I was at Klipsch's site and found they are selling redesigned replacement Pods for the system for $22. I picked one up, and a couple of new Sats off an auction site. Hooked everything up to a backup computer with an X-FI sound card and am still impressed on how they sound. If you still have one lying around, or can find a broken set, pick it up, and get the replacement pod, you like these.

Wow! 4/20/2011 6:51:58 PM

Pros: I work for Best Buy in the Home Theater department, and everyone in the computer department have been saying great things about these speakers. So I figured I would give them a shot since my discount let me buy them for a great price(Sorry Newegg!)..... I would have payed full price for these. The sounds that come out of these 2 speakers and sub are just amazing. Screw my neighbors, I blast these. They complained that my music was to loud... So i bought some ear plugs for them.

Cons: No power button... Crazy as that sounds, its true. On 24/7 unless you unplug them. Not a huge problem for me, I don't pay the electric. Highs could be maybe a little crisper... But that is just me being extremely picky. They don't cook or clean for me... I thought that with all the awesomeness that is these speaker, they would.

awesom 12/16/2008 3:31:34 PM

Pros: I work imaging for radio and I couldn't ask for a better set up! The highs are very crisp and the subwoofer is very powerful! Perfect for gaming or for everyday use!

Cons: The only con is the volume speaker feels as if it will break off, but it hasnt yet and I have owned these speaks for over 2 years.

Overall Review: Great, worth the money

Fantastic 2.1 12/15/2008 7:29:57 AM

Pros: If you don't need surround sound and you like to hear individual notes and music that has power and clarity, then these speakers are for you. I've had them for about 10 months with no issues and I love them! They are very musical, have plenty of base and sound great even at loudest levels—and they do play loud!

Cons: None for me. Some have complained of poor connections on the base module, but I tuck mine underneath my huge metal desk out of harm's way so I can't trip over it.

Overall Review: On the Klipsch web site, you can order the optional heavy-duty wiring (Monster Cable)—do it and you won't be sorry. Welcome to quality musical reproduction!

Good Speakers 12/12/2008 5:54:18 PM

Pros: Great sound for an office or large room. I've owned these speakers for well over a year and love the quality and strength of the sound. I love the ability to plug in earphones to the speakers, it's much easier than plugging into a desktop computer. (The speakers shut off when you plug head phones in)

Cons: The subwoofer is not the best I have heard for computer speakers, but it is great for an average size room.

Overall Review: If you want really deep base, search for better product, but for an overall product these are great, well worth the money. I've owned them for over a year and love every second of it.

The best sounding speakers 12/11/2008 11:35:23 PM

Pros: Simply phenominal. with all the cons already mentioned, after 5+ yeats of ownership I wold never think twice if I had to buy a pair of computer speakers again.

Cons: controll panel connector is easy to break. after 3 years, mine broke after constant contact with the wall - got it repaired on E*bay ($10).

Overall Review: after 5 years I had no problems with volume knob and have not noticed any cranking noise, the speakers still sound like they always did. probably, the best $160 I have ever spent on any electronics. They withstanded the number of parties and got abused by drunks trying to crank the sound all the way, they made people dance like craze for hours trying to brake my house, they made my neighbors go nuts, they made me have fun. I know Klipsch still sells them of the web site, so if you thinking of getting a pair for yourself, hurry.

Wicked-Good speakers 12/11/2008 10:54:07 PM

Pros: Astoundingly accurate sound reproduction. These speakers tell no lies and will flush out sound production/recording defects. I found several in my CD collection. Otherwise they ROCK. Incredible sound and clarity. "Dangerously" loud units (I have no close neighbors) and yet NO distortion below the realm of pain. They are Sweet.

Cons: Worrisome durability histories for some users. Mine were new from manufacturer (my FAV NewEgg had been out of stock for awhile). I will see what goes.

Overall Review: Is this item no longer made? Terrible news, if so. What did I get from Klipsch? Box appeared as new pack and all wires were as if they had been packed from the start. If their Chinese manufacturer cannot produce to specs they should come back to the US as my most favorite Polk Audio has always been here. My home ent. system is ALL Polk Audio 5.1 (6 units).
