Is this scanner also a fax machine?

No, you can scan and email the document but we have never used it as a fax.

I had to reload software for my 1120 and now there is not an option to scan to pdf.  any suggestions?

If you have an old disk, the older versions did not play well with Win7.  Go to the Kodak web site and see if they have a newer version.

I came to find that albeit a "GREAT" scanner, Kodak never really never had a good driver set for it. A great scanner and fair drivers, is not a "good" product.

I have changed almost all of my clients over to Brother Scanners, good product, reasonably priced and great drivers and software.

Hope you can get an updated suite that will fix the PDf issue!

Question 3

I am purchasing 2 of these scanners whoever Compatibility on manual does not mention Windows 8.  will there be issues?

Never used on 8, as in all things 8, all bets are off..... I have a bunch 15+ on 7 without any problems, but if the driver does not reference 8 then you had better steer clear.  That does 2 things, keep you safe from things that do not work, and forces the mfg to do a better job!  Kodak is veryyyyyyy slow about updating drivers, has been my experience.

Is this listing for new products, used , or refurbished?
