    Dominion

    Dominion will grant territory that you have obtained to your retainers. In return, your retainers who are given the land will dedicate themselves to the development of the clan. By recognizing their achievements, you can expect greater outcomes from them. Deepen your bonds with each of your retainers and build the foundations of your clan!

    Submission

    Retainers will evaluate the current situation and act on their own judgement. They will provide submissions, which are plans they consider the best for the clan. Submissions vary widely, including employing an officer, expanding the control of the territory, investing in development, and appeasing tribes. Each require different amounts of money and effort.
    It is your mission as a daimyo to consider what should be prioritized in the moment and make the right choice.

    Domain Development

    A castle also controls the surrounding counties. Castles are ruled by lords, while counties are ruled by land holders. You will grant your retainers land based on their abilities, qualities and relationships. In return, your retainers will develop their domains on their own.
    As a daimyo, you can also construct castle town facilities to boost the development of your territory. Castle town facilities will affect the entire castle and provide various benefits, such as gold income, harvest, and an increase of maximum soldiers.

    Direct Talks

    Negotiate with officers using direct talks to prevent them from leaving, or invite them from other clans. Offer golds and lands as "negotiation offers", or they may ask for what they want. Mastering the art of bargaining will be the shortcut to unifying the country.

    Accolades

    Bestow accolades such as commendations and aliases to retainers who have made achievements in battles and civil affairs.
    Retainers who have received aliases will become more capable and gain new abilities.
    As they gain more achievements, their aliases will rank up and become stronger. Your leadership as a daimyo will be put to the test when you decide who to promote and how you will strengthen them.

    Landmarks

    Landmarks like famous temples and shrines are scattered throughout Japan. Obtaining landmarks will bring various kinds of benefits to your clan.
    On the other hand, enemies can also benefit from obtaining those landmarks.
    In addition, if you develop the surrounding area, landmarks will also be developed and their effects will be strengthened.
    This makes for intense competition to takeover landmarks.

    Clan Target

    You can set clan targets to decide a direction for your clan.
    There are many types of targets, ranging from basic ones such as the number of officers and bases to the total LV of issued policy, the number of officers with aliases at LV 4, and the unity of a certain region.
    When you achieve a target, you will earn commendations which can be bestowed to retainers as "accolades". In addition, you will also acquire special rewards that benefit the entire clan.
    Utilize your clan targets strategically to make your way in the turbulent age!

    Policy

    As daimyo, you will issue "policies" which greatly affect the entire clan. Your clan's characteristics will be determined by what kind of policies are issued. You can also appoint "council officials" as the right-hand person to develop new policies.
    Promote your officers wisely, and choose from a variety of policies to strengthen your clan!

    Traits

    Each officer owns a special ability called Traits, which can have a large impact to your clan's civil and military.
    For example, you may be able to overcome disadvantages such as being outnumbered by marching officers who possess military traits. Gather officers with variety of traits so you can take advantage of all kind of situations.

    Diplomacy

    You can strategize and gain advantages through diplomacy, such as building alliances, or requesting for reinforcements. Utilize diplomacy aggressively and strategically.
    It is no exaggeration to say that diplomacy could determine the future of a clan, especially for a smaller one. The daimyo must take the responsibility to decide with whom to join hands with.

    Council Official

    A "conservator" is a role that can have influence on the whole clan. If you appoint someone who values commercial development, your clan will become wealthy, but your troops will be reduced. Consider wisely before appointing a conservator.
    An "overseer" is a role that can have influence on the clan's policies. A former ninja will propose special policies to strengthen covert activities. A relative of the Oda family will propose policies unique to the Oda clan. Proposal from other officers may have variety of policies such as reducing the cost for issuing orders.
    Assemble officers with different qualities to build your inner circle.

    Province War Tactics

    A regent, the leader of a province, will propose "province war tactics". Their proposals will depend by the regent's ability, such as "ranging attacks" where provinces attack multiple castles at once, or "feinting" against enemy troops.
    Choose your regents wisely and strategize like never before!

    Castle Role

    Appointing roles to castles is a new way to strategize within the network of castles. A "defensive base" is crucial for defense as the stage for sieges. Having an "assistance base" near it can help increase the number of soldiers during defense when attacked by large force of enemies.
    A "resupply base" can support marches and long-term expeditions with additional supplies when passing through.

    March

    Look across the land and choose your marching route carefully. The route may be beset with obstacles such as roads too narrow for a large troop or encounter an enemy fortress. By choosing the wrong route, you could lead your army into a devastating situation. Although your retainers will make their own decisions based on the situation, it is sometimes necessary to give them orders to lead them. Your skills will be put to the test as daimyo.

    Battle

    If there are any small battles happening nearby a daimyo's unit, then one major battle can be launched to settle it.
    Allies and enemies nearby will assemble at a single battlefield to determine the clan's future. The result of such major battle could have significant impact to the surrounding clans.
    Your ability to assess the situation and quickly make decisions as a daimyo will be tested in a rapidly changing battlefield.

    Sieges

    A "siege" takes place when you attack an enemy's main base or defensive position. The defending side will depend on their defensive equipment to counter the attack.
    On the other hand, the attacking side must assess the rapidly-changing battlefield and devise strategies to seize the castle.
    Each castle will have a totally different battlefield. The surrounding domains and land holders will also be involved in the large-scale conflict.

    Roadblock and Lord's Surrender

    The attacking side will win the siege if they destroy all enemy units or conquer the main citadel.
    If you march from multiple roads and set up a roadblock, you can start a siege with your troops positioned around the castle. This allows you to disperse the enemy's defensive positions and thus gain the upper hand in the battle. In addition, during the military council before a seige, your officers may propose some strategies by which you can make the lord of that castle surrendder. By completing certain goals, you may able to minimum the damage on both sides.

    Use Equipment to Defend

    The defending side can build defensive equipment to resist an enemy's attack.
    There will also be "important equipment" which have special effects for defense. For example: A boulder tower decreases the damage given by the enemy and enemy's stamina when activated. Secret camp confuses the enemy and lowers their defense when activated.
    However, the attacking side's total morale will rise if they destroy any equipment. Thus, It is important to utilize important equipment while protecting them to prevent the enemy's total morale from rising.

    Over 200 Siege Maps

    Since each castle will have a totally different battlefield, you need to consider how to attack or defend based on each castle's terrain.
    Mountain castles are easy to defend and difficult to attack because of the steep terrain and limited marching routes. It is important for the attacking side to apply roadblocks at multiple locations.
    A flatland castle is surrounded by its castle town. It is difficult to take advantage of the terrain in terms of defense. Thus, the defending side must utilize defensive equipment effectively.
