No, you send your files through their internet program to your new device. If you are using Windows 10, be sure to disable the One Drive function, or it will take much longer to transfer your files.

can I transfer from a pc with vista os to pc with win 10 home edition ?

My transfer was stopped because my two computers were not running the same version of Windows. I upgraded one and the transfer went thru smoothly. Good luck.

The software needs to be on both computers, only one copy needed, and customer service was great in helping me to establish the link and complete the transfer.
