I don't know what a USB 3 is - but there might be on the back.
I know there is 4 on the back and 2 in the front USB ports, but there is also another plug in on the back...USB 3?

If you purchase it separately the computer will have issues in what that would be called a downgrade in computer software.  The hardware and bios has certain coding and kernels of information that tend to cause problems when you use older versions.

I have a home office and want to know is this good for a business computer rather than a play computer?  I need a work horse.

This is not a workhorse.  I would suggest a Lenovo tower with either an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor to start.  Without more specifics on your home business it is impossible to be more specific for you.

This system uses an external power supply, much like a laptop power supply.  This is probably one of the least-upgradeable computers I've touched in a very long time - when I first looked inside the case (I wanted to connect an old hard drive to transfer the files quickly via SATA), I was saddened as it reminded me of the old Packard Bell days.  The motherboard only has 2 SATA connectors, both of which are in use (optical and system HD), and I didn't even notice exactly where the power cables for the drives were connected, as the external power supply connector was right on the motherboard.

Not a chance. The puny external power brick is the same type used on laptops.
