Question 1

What is the actual size of the veiwable screen? H" x W". The dia. size doesn't tell me anything, I like my monitors taller rather than wider.

It is the same size as any other normal 16:9 aspect ratio panel. If you want a bit taller you need to go to a 24" 16:10 ratio.  That is what I am currently using as well.  The size of my DELLs are 20 1/2" wide and 12 3/4" tall.  You will find that all 24" 16:10 monitors will be that size (+/- a fraction).  The 16:9 ratio monitor will be approx 1" smaller in vertical size.  Hopefully this helps you out in your decision.

is the stand adjustable - tilt, that is back and front tilt?

The screen can be tilted back about 5 inches from the standard upright position. There is no forward tilt other than to tilt it back up straight. There is no front tilt beyond the upright position.

There is also no vertical - up and down - adjustment available via the stand.

Is it me or does this screen auto dims? If so, how do I disable that ?

I have the monitor for several weeks now and have not seen it auto dim on me yet. I thought I seen some were in the comments for this product someone else talking about that specific setting and how to turn it off though I can't recall the details.

Does the screen have a matte anti-glare finish or is it glossy?
I do not like the shiny surfaces that are common on lap tops these days.

Does this nit have built in speakers?

No, in my experience built in speakers are extremely bad and 90% of the time facing the back of the monitor. To answer your question, not this monitor does not have a speaker.

Question 6

Any idea how I might lower the height on this or tilt it? It's not that the stand is bad but it's way too tall for my setup and I can't get it to tilt at all. It's like I'm at the front row of a theater.

Is there any way to buy just a stand that is adjustable and able to tilt that fits into the back slot of this monitor?

I was able to tilt the screen forward a little bit but it took quite a bit of pressure before it would budge. There may be a screw that can be loosened to make it easier but I was not able to see it at first glance.

As for the height, I think the standard height is what it is. Again, I have not messed with it much but it is possible I missed an adjustment screw/clamp.

Will this monitor work with a mac, specifically a MacBookPro laptop?

A secondary signal connection is required in order to utilize this feature, and must be connected to a computer that can also support such a connection.

can speakers be added?

The monitor does not have built in speakers, but external speakers can always be added and plugged into the computer. This monitor does not have a headphone jack or speakers, so it has nothing to do with sound. You will need to plug your separate speakers or headphones to the computer tower itself.

Does this monitor have wall mount capabilities?

Yes. Four threaded holes in back about 4"apart in a square.
HDMI cable sticks out below holes.

Yes - They can work through the hdmi connection or through a 1/8" headphone cable.
