Is the screen matte or glossy?

While I'm not positive about the differnce, I'm pretty sure it is matte.

Does it come with the cables? Such as HDMI?

No HDMI in box, only comes with a cheap vga cable and small weak looking power. I do however like this monitor.

I've had this product for 2 days and it has started to go dark every 2-20 minutes. It's like the brightness levels are lowered by 20-30 and there's a dark spot on the far right side that appears. Restarting the monitor is a temporary fix but it always happens again. I first assumed some sort of power-saving mode but it says it isn't enabled, though there doesn't seem to be an option in the menu for that at all. Restarting the computer didn't help and it happened through two different types of connections. The software on the cd didn't give me any customization options, any thoughts on how to handle this?

Sorry to say that I'm not experiencing that problem. If the problem didn't exist on your last monitor ot could be your video card, video cable not seated all the way or you got a internal hardware issue with your monitor. I would check to see if the problem occurs when using the other video connections.  If the problems still happens try a different computer as a last measure before calling newegg for rma or LG for warranty repair. Hope you sort the problem out as it's a f great monitor for gaming and picture editing

Is the screen glossy or matte?

The screen is NOT glossy like a glass screen of a tablet so then, by the process of elimination, it must be what you deem matte.  It is like every other LCD monitor I have seen.  This is a good bright monitor.

BUILT IN SPEAKERS?

No it doesn't have speakers. It does have a 1/8" audio output so you can pass audio through from HDMI. This monitor is also nice and light because the transformer is in the power cord.

Can this be mounted in a arm or wall?

Yes, the monitor has mounting holes on the back that align with the monitor arms or wall mounts.  The monitor is pretty light so the arm will be able to carry it easily.
I have had my 27" LG monitor mounted to a monitor arm for a few months and it is working well.

Does this monitor have a DVI cable in the box or will I have to buy one? I didn't see any in the picture.

Nope just the vga and power cable like all monitor these day...

I prefer glossy panels over matte, because blacks and colors are deeper, and small text is sharper. Does this panel have a glossy, slightly matte, or fully matte panel? Thanks!

It is definitely not glossy. I would say slightly matted. When off, reflections have a murky look. IPS is awesome though and zero dead pixels. Love the picture on it. Hope this helps.

what is the refresh rate 60? 120?

It's 60 I believe (I bought this for my girlfriend and haven't really used it, but I'm 90% sure it's 60)

Can this monitor be mounted on a arm or wall mount?

Yes, you can b/c there are 4 mounting holes on the back gor wall mount. I don't know the thread size for screw size. More likely 10-32 or can be 1/4-20
