Can you adjust the height of monitor on the stand?

NO, you cannot adjust the stand which, if I had known, it might have influenced my decision, ESPECIALLY because the two I got are different heights.

If your OCD is less sever than mine you might be okay, but it makes me crazy every time I notice it.

That being said, if you're only getting one, the height of the screen isn't bad and the clarity is awesome.  I use them for gaming and I stand by my choice for that purpose.

Does this have a vga connection too?

I am not sure. Back panel has 4 things; a HDMI,  a 'D-SUB',  a headphone port and the power DC port. The D-SUB port is a 15 pin (5x3) parallelogram configuration, with a screw pin on each side of it. Hope this helps.

From what I can see, the monitor has 4 screw holes in the back panel that is used for mounting purpose.

Is this compatible with Panasonic Toughbook?

If your Toughbook has an HDMI connection, then you should be good to go.  Just be sure that your drivers are updated, Windows Updates stay current, etc.

I want to connect this monitor to a Macbook Pro. what connectors do I need? Will it give me quality video?

The connector will depend on what model of Mac Book pro you have. Older models have a DVI, newer Mac Books either use the mini Display port, mini DVI or a thunderbolt port. Once you determine what you Mac Book uses, you'll need to get a cable that converts from your Mac Book to HDMI.  I'm currently using mine with thunderbolt to HDMI and couldn't be happier. The quality is very good.

Is the height adjustable. I see that it is 19" tall with the stand. I only have clearance for 17.75" would i be able to make this work in that area?

Nope. This is one of the cons with this monitor. It is *not* height adjustable nor can you change the viewing orientation.
