Is this monitor height adjustable?

No.  The LG 29EA73-P is not height adjustable.  You're looking for the LG 29EB73-P (note the letter "B" instead of "A" in the model name).  I wish I'd asked this question myself because the model I have (LG 29EA73-P) sits a little low & I needed to purchase a 3" riser for it.  Otherwise a fantastic monitor.

Is the panel matte or glossy finish?

the screen has a matte finish, there are no reflections. I like the monitor but a better deal for the money is New Egg's LG 27EA83R-D monitor. It has the same width and resolution as this monitor but it is much taller giving you more usable screen space. It is also on sale at New Egg for $100 dollars less than the 29" monitor.

I own both monitors, and if the price was the same I would still go for the 27" LG 27EA83R-D monitor. At $100 off it is a done deal!

Question 3

Can you take off the bottom stand and attach a wall mount on the back of this monitor and mount it on a swivel wall?

Not only CAN you use a VESA mount arm, but you really SHOULD. The stand is lame, the monitor is awesome, a good arm makes it a mindblowing setup. Someday I'll have TWO, which you can stack, do vertical side by side, or as a friggin huge panorama.

Yeah, you better put it on an arm.

Question 4

Can someone tell me the vertical height of the screen? To be clear, I do not want the height of the entire monitor, just of the viewable portion. I have two monitors now, and would like to put this one in the middle, but only if I can get the vertical viewing area to match up.

viewable is about 11.5 inches.
Note: The stand is a fixed stand - not having height controls to move up or down, but presumably you plan to place things under the monitors to lift them up etc.

Question 5

Does anyone know if my video card will support 2560x1080 for this monitor?  I could not find this exact resolution specified.  I have a XFX Double D R9-280X-TDFD Radeon R9 280X.

It will absolutely support this resolution. Granted, you may have to turn your setting down in order to get playable fps in some games at this resolution, but your card should be able to handle it just fine.  For reference, I have a gtx 660ti hooked up to this monitor and it runs excellent.  My recommendation, if you are even considering getting this monitor you should, it makes gaming, movies, and just general productivity a lot more immersive

LG website states 3 usb 3.0 is this correct?

According the the specifications (which is also why I ordered this monitor) it has 3 usb 3.0 ports, one in, two out.

Question 7

I was wondering what is the best things to clean this monitor with?  I got something splattered on sides of the screen and wish to clean it up.  I don't wish to ruin the screen or anything.

Mild soap and water is fine, don't use a lot, damp not wet.  Use a soft cloth.  Or you can buy screen cleaner (not the glass kind).

What do u mean ? its a monitor that excepts any connection from hdmi , VGA , dvi 
I have an hdmi connection on VGA card and that how it's working for me.

This monitor isn’t CPU specific. It all depends on your video card. First the video card must be capable of displaying 2560x1080. To give you a reference I’m running a GTX 295 which came out in 2009 so if you have a decent video card you shouldn’t have an issue with the resolution. The second thing is that your video card must have either a DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort output which shouldn’t be an issue because most have one now a days. I honestly don’t know of anyone still running an SVGA video card unless you have an old laptop.

A little side note that I’ve discovered. I feel kind of stupid admitting this because I should have remembered but I didn’t and it was frustrating until I did. If you connect this monitor to your video card via HDMI you will NOT be able to run in 2560x1080. Max res for HDMI is obviously 1920x1080. I’m not sure about newer video cards but for mine I had to use the DVI-D port with a DVI-D cable. DVI-A will not cut it. Google it if you aren’t sure how DVI works. There are pictures that will show you what the cable pin-outs look like.

My understanding is that one can connect 2 laptops simultaneously (one using HDMI and one using displayport) and you view them in this monitor? Is this accurate?

If so, how do I control say laptop 1 or laptop 2? Do I need 2 keyboards and mouse? Meaning can I use one keyboard & mouse and control both the sources (like KVM)?

No, this is not a KVM, each source needs it's own inputs.
