Does the HDMI cable that is included support the whole 2560x1080 resolution? I heard that only HDMI 2.0 supports 21:9 aspect ratios

I can't directly answer your question, but can provide info that may be helpful. My desktop PC video card doesn't have HDMI out, so I'm using DVI. Dual-Link DVI cable is needed for full 2560x1080 resolution on Linux.  My Windows laptop has DisplayPort (and VGA), and DisplayPort supports 2560x1080 with no issues.

Can this be used for 3D?

I use it mostly for AutoCAD, and yes I use 3d modeling and screen works awesome. However I do not use it to view 3d movies if that is your question. Hope thus helped.

what is the difference between this LG monitory (29UM65-P) and LG 29EB73-P and which one is newest?

Hey man, the only differences that I can tell are:

29UM65 has a 14ms response time and the 29EB73 has a 5ms.
(Though I've never had a problem with input lag or any sort of monitor lag running at 60 FPS and more with my 29UM65.)

The 29EB73 has an adjustable stand, as well as USB ports on the back.

And for some reason, it seems to be listed under LG's commercial products on their site.

I thoroughly enjoy my 29UM65, but your decision is yours to make, so good luck, and hope this helps!

Question 4

Have had this monitor for a month.
Today ( 3 times) the screen flickered and went crazy.
Had to shut down and reboot ( which took longer than usual).
I heard a crackling sound coming from the back of the monitor on the last occurrence.
Could the power supply of monitor be faulty?

The only issue I have had with this monitor so far is the Display Port wasn't working when I had HDMI hooked up also, the monitor became totally unresponsive (tried menu button but would not work and I was stuck with a black screen until I unhooked the HDMI connection and restarted my computer). This only happened once and I'm not even sure how or why it did.
As far as your problem, I would double check all your connections (power and data) and somehow try to contact LG as they should be able to help you.  I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.  Hopefully the crackling sound was just your speakers and not an internal electrical component.

Can it run games in split screen without putting the game in "window mode" ?

Unfortunately not, the way the split screen works is two ways. You can either have it take from multiple sources, or there is software you can install that lets application windows resize to specific predefined dimensions when dragged (kinda like how windows 8 has the feature that occurs when you drag windows to the sides or the top of the screen. but this works for more configurations) The first works for full screened applications but the problem is that you can't have both sources be your computer. The second only works for windowed applications.

There are no VGA connections on this monitor.  You MUST use at least one Display Port connection.  In short, your computer(s) must have digital out.  Converter plugs will not work.

I found it very difficult to connect to this monitor.  One of my computers did have a display port connection.  I had to had a card with HDMI out on my other computer.

LG support was of no help.
