Is the screen Glossy?

The screen is a nice unobtrusive matte. It is much nicer than what they used to use on IPS screens years ago, that made them a bit grainy to look at.

Does this monitor turn on instantly unlike the  Acer B326HK when it cycle through ports before turning on?   Thanks.

The quality of the image on this monitor is superb but there is an issue with it waking up properly. I run two monitors, A smaller one for my pallets in Photoshop. When waking my MacPro wasn't seeing the LG right away and would re-arrange my pallets every time. I finally turned off the sleep function and it hasn't happened again. I believe this is a thunderbolt issue though not the fault of the monitor.

Does the HDMI port support HDCP? I didn't see anything on the LG page about it. If so have you had any HDCP issues? Thanks.

I don't use HDCP but the specs on the LG site state HDCP is supported.
Beautiful monitor, just get good video card that supports the full resolution at a frame rate you need.

What video card can I use to get a reasonable quality display and a somewhat reasonable gaming frame rate from this screen? PS/Maya/AE/Lightroom?

For games, something powerful if you want to run at high res.  I'm running dual gtx 970s.  For the apps you listed, you'll need a card supporting the max res via DP.  The gfx manu lists max supported res for each card.

Can this monitor be daisychained? I want to run a laptop and 2 4k monitors?

I might be wrong, but I don't believe so. As far as I know the display ports are in only. I have no other displays with display port to test it on. I will say if your planning on gaming that at the moment there are no real 4k 60fps laptops available(I have an MSI GT80 SLI-253 w/ 2gtx980m's that struggled for 30-40 fps) but as work station monitors go this is pretty amazing. I would suggest trying to contact LG support for this one.

can i use this as a second monitor with my 22inch iMac late 2009 computer?  it has a vnidia geforce 9400 graphics card.

You could connect this monitor to your iMac via the mini-display port however it would not achieve the 4096x2160 (4K) resolution that the monitor is capable of @ 60Hz with your setup. From my understanding the 2009 iMac maximum capability is to simultaneously support up to a 30" monitor on an external display maximum resolution of 2560x1600. So this would function as a 2nd monitor for you but would not reach this LCDs capability.

How is the quality from 1-11 for gaming, video editing, and movies? How well does it display HDR?

I'm not sure what 1-11 means, but for gaming its pretty awesome. I keep it in AdobeRGB mode and the colors/clarity are hard to describe. Just truly amazing. I do minor video editing projects and its awesome for that too, that's really what its designed for.

It's not technically an HDR panel. Those are just starting to come out but honestly we still probably have about year for true, complete support between software and hardware for PC's. In regards to HDR you should also know that currently there are 2 standards and at least 2 more coming in the next 12-18 months.

Will this support lower resolutions, at higher refresh rates, say 1900x1200 at 75 0r 80hz vertical, also HDMI limitation probably isn't a cable thing as I have 1.4a cables that are capable of 240hz+, and can get 2.0 cables that are about the same, so the limitations are most likely HDCP, Don't want you jacking pack in to your computer thru capture card and making high quality dubs. Are at least I would think this is the reason?

No, this monitor has a max refresh rate of 60Hz. This refresh rate is available right up to the 4K monitor limit of 4096x2160. This is NOT a 120Hz or 240Hz or other ratings monitor. This is not a monitor for overclocking either. This monitor supports lower resolutions, also at 60Hz but default is 4096x2160@60Hz (if video card supports this output). The 4K outputs are supported via DP and HDMI outputs but only the DP output provides 4K 60Hz refresh rate, the HDMI output only provides 24Hz refresh rate for the 4096x2160 resolution.

Can I adjust the amount of the monitor that displays a picture? I need it to be behind a piece of wood and only display a 19 width and 16 inch height.  Is that possible with this monitor?

you would have to lower the resolution and make sure to set the scale 1:1 but I'm not sure if you are going to get exact dimensions

What is the weight without the stand? We want to use this at a trade show for showing a video and will be hanging it.

Hi, sorry, I couldn't tell you.  I'd estimate the stand weighs only a few pounds, so you could probably estimate the difference if you found the overall weight on the manu spec page.
