Not as much a question as a statement:  I own an LG 29" UWD and this model, just like my existing is NOT COMPATIBLE with VESA mounted SFF Computers!  Adding a computer to the back of the screen covers ALL the I/O ports!  I (love and) HATE YOU LG!? ;)

VESA is not a mounting standard.. Video Electronics Standards Association.  VESA is the group that defines the standards for all parts of video electronics.... even cables and signal design. you were right on the FDMI though, which is a spec controlled out by VESA group.

Question 3

I have been looking at this monitor but it says its a 2k and then it had another option for 4k but they both have the same resolution and I am confused on what the difference is?

The resolution is all that matters, which is 3440x1440. Think of this as an ultra-wide 1440p monitor, which is generally referred to as 2k, QHD and WQHD. LG calls this resolution UW-QHD, which feels like the best name for it. If there was a resolution category called 3k, that would probably be the most accurate. For reference, 3440x1440 has 40.3% less pixels than the typical 4k monitor resolution of 3840x2160.

Question 4

What is the warranty on LG 34UC88?  The LG website says it has a 1 year warranty for parts and labor.  Yet the Warranty & Returns tab on Newegg says 3 years.  Which is accurate?

Warranty is 1Yr through LG. In first 180 days you can extend it to 3 years for about 60Dollars which I is a good deal as you get Servicenet service

Has anyone else experienced the issues mentioned by Christopher B. posted on 6/9/2016 "image persistence problems..."?    I bought the 29" 21:9 and within 3 days my panel had my Windows wallpaper image burned in.  The burn in was so noticeable  I thought I had reverted to back to my desktop and when I shut down the images were clearly visible in the black screen.  The monitor also had excessive excessive light bleed on both left corners.  Some light bleed was noticeable but acceptable in the right corners.

I'm am on this review section as I was contemplating on getting the 34".  I thought my 29" was a fluke as I had not read any reviews of the burn in problems.  Will need to do further research before I take the plunge.

After having the 34" now for over 4 months and it effectively being on 24/7 for that amount of time and several unwanted overnight static screens being left on I will say burn-in is not a problem at least with me.  I do have that slight amount of light leak out of the corners but that was due to just over brightness on my part (this was corrected by using 4:4:4 YCbCr actually)
